Ground Broken on 255-Unit Rental at 72 Perth in Junction Triangle

On May 22, 2026, Mayor Olivia Chow joined Castlepoint Numa and Hazelview to break ground on 72 Perth Avenue, a new 18-storey purpose-built rental building in Toronto’s Junction Triangle. 

The development will deliver 255 rental homes, including 51 affordable units (one-in-five), in one of the city’s most connected and walkable neighbourhoods. WoodGreen Community Services will serve as the project’s Affordable Housing partner. Construction is underway, with occupancy targeted for 2028.

72 Perth Avenue focuses on quality design, neighbourhood compatibility, and long-term affordability. The building prioritizes family-sized suites, a segment chronically undersupplied in Toronto’s rental market, especially in transit-connected neighbourhoods.

Mayor Chow was joined at the ceremony by Davenport MP Julie Dzerowicz, City Councillor for Ward 9, Davenport, Alejandra Bravo, representatives from Castlepoint Numa and Hazelview, as well as investors and capital partners, and members of the project team. She praised the development for offering 51 affordable suites as well as a large number of two-and three-bedroom units that will be able to comfortably house entire families.


72 Perth Avenue will rise 18 storeys above a four-storey podium, delivering 255 residential units ranging from one to four bedrooms for long-term residents. Residents will have access to approximately 13,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor amenity space, including a fitness centre, pool, sauna, games room, children’s playroom, coworking space, guest suites, and dedicated bike storage and repair facilities, with direct access to the West Toronto Rail Path. Rooftop amenities sit on the 19th floor, with additional outdoor patios on the 4th, 5th, 15th, and 17th floors.


The 51 affordable homes are fully integrated throughout the building, with the same finishes, amenities, and design quality as every other suite, and will remain affordable for 40 years.

The building targets Tier 3 of NECB 2020, supported by an on-site geothermal system, targeting a 50% reduction in energy consumption and an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions versus baseline. All common areas and suites meet CSA standards for barrier-free visitability.

72 Perth Avenue sits at the southern part of the Junction Triangle, with a Transit Score of 100, a Walk Score of 97, and a Bike Score of 97. Residents are a five-minute walk from Bloor GO Station, the Bloor UP Express, and Dundas West TTC, and from Bloor Street West’s retail and restaurant corridor.

Castlepoint acquired the broader development site in 2008, led remediation of a former industrial property, and shaped the mixed-use district now anchored by Castlepoint’s heritage Automotive Building and the T3 office campus, owned by Hazelview. After extensive community consultation on 72 Perth, Toronto City Council approved the final zoning amendment in May 2025. Demolition completed in December 2025 clearing the way for construction to begin.

72 Perth was selected as one of 17 projects approved under the City of Toronto’s Rental Housing Supply Program (RHSP), which provided funding for the 51 affordable homes. This alignment of private, City, and Federal support made a building of this calibre, with this depth of affordability and sustainability, possible. The development also directly supports the City of Toronto’s HousingTO 2020-2030 Action Plan, which targets 40,000 new affordable rental homes by 2030. WoodGreen will manage the affordable homes for the project.

Affordable should never mean lesser,” said

We celebrated Canadian Stage's 2024 Theatre Ball, raising funds to support the dramatic art that is at the core of their mission. We are excited to share that Alfredo Romano, founder of Castlepoint Numa, received the Creative City Builder Award! After outgrowing their existing spaces in just over two years, Pride Toronto has doubled down, expanding from roughly 4,000 sq ft to 8,000 sq ft, while Zeidler has expanded their space by 25 percent. We had 38 community members and stakeholders at our Community Consultation Meeting. During this meeting, we reviewed the community feedback to date on our project objectives, shared the emerging concept designs, and answered attendee questions.

Congratulations to Daniel Libeskind, architect of Castlepoint Numa's L-Tower, for receiving the ‘Dresden Peace Prize’ at the Dresden Semper Opera House for his outstanding and influential memorial architecture.


His approach leaves no room for ignorance and relativisation. The form, the architecture itself sets the course for remembrance. Whether it is the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the 9/11 Memorial in New York, the Imperial War Museum in Manchester or the Holocaust Memorial in Amsterdam. His work also includes the Military History Museum in Dresden, whose architecture has become an anti-war museum and the most important place in Dresden for coming to terms with the consequences of militarism and wars.

We were thrilled to host 76 community members for the in-person Public Open House on February 9th, 2023, from 6 pm-8 pm at L.E. Shore Memorial Library, The Blue Mountains Public Library, located at 173 Bruce St S, Thornbury.

Along with MHBC Planning, Georgian Planning Solutions, Boreal Greens, and Tatham Engineering, we presented the proposal and community vision of Thornbury Acres.

40-Storey Tower Marks Castlepoint Numa's Third Proposal for Weston Village Revitalization

We are delighted to announce that we recently submitted the Site Plan Amendment and Zoning Bylaw Amendment to the City of Toronto on the proposed site plan of 1800 Weston Rd.

The proposed development will introduce a new mixed-use building designed by award-winning architect, BDP Quadrangle. The project will significantly transform the pedestrian experience of its frontage along Weston Road while delivering high-quality residential units.

Many pieces in the collection originate from neighbourhoods where we are building communities. Castlepoint Numa Looks to Expand on Weston Village Renewal with 45-Storey Tower

We are excited to share that we recently resubmitted the Site Plan Application and Zoning By-Law Amendment to the City of Toronto on the Weston Park Development.


We aim to revitalize the site by creating a mixed-use development which will support the existing church spaces and programs while introducing a variety of new uses, including community, residential and commercial/retail uses.


The Weston Park development is a Transit-Oriented Community and will bring a significant community space, public plaza at grade, and incorporate the heritage flatiron building.

We are thrilled to announce that we have submitted the Official Plan Amendment and Zoning Bylaw Amendment to the Grey County and Town of Blue Mountains on the proposed farm cooperative site plan today!

Thornbury Acres is a collaborative homesteading culture designed to empower families to actively participate in the farm to fork cycle.

Homesteading families will have access to the tools, training, and infrastructure to be completely self-sufficient throughout the year. The cooperative will work together to support each other through the production, preservation, preparation, consumption and sale of agricultural goods produced by the community.
